Rainier 2022 - Ingraham Direct trip report

This was our second attempt at Rainier, after having gone quite late in the 2021 season. This was early July; we did a two day climb: up to camp Muir day 1, summit and down day 2. Our usual third couldn’t make it, so it was just the two of us. Conditions couldn’t have been better, we were glad to go straight up Ingraham instead of DC.

We woke up at around 11pm to leave Muir; the sun rose just as we reached the crater rim. According to my GPS, the entirety of day 2 from Muir, summit, and down was 10.25 miles, 16h 45m. We did take maybe an hour nap at Muir on the way down.
